Goals & Autopilot

Goals bound to live metrics, turned into approved work and closed against expectations

Planned · Year 1 (W2)Sold as: CoreC-14

Goals & Autopilot holds company goals as live objects bound to metrics, decomposes them into initiatives, executes approved plans through people and agents, and closes each goal with a measured outcome. Squad goals lite ships in Year 1 inside AI Workforce; the full module is planned for W3.

Goals that know their numbers

Most goals live in a slide. In Goals & Autopilot a goal is a live record: title, statement, a binding to a metric with segment filters (region, product, channel), a baseline with value, period and source, a target, a stretch, a deadline, an owner (a person, an agent or a squad), a sponsor and a status. A KPI can bind to a semantic-layer metric or any One3 module metric and shows freshness and a data-quality score; a manual KPI is allowed but carries evidence and a "manual" badge.

Year 1: squad goals lite

The Year-1 substitute is squad goals lite inside AI Workforce: goal, squad, KPIs and a weekly check-in. A baseline and an attribution window are mandatory, and stop triggers pause a squad automatically when a metric crosses a rule with a minimum sample. The goal ROI view shows the Investment & ROI Ledger scoped to the goal: rent, credits, spend and supervision against attributed returns. The squad goal record is designed to carry forward into the W3 model.

W3: from goal to governed execution

Planned for W3, Copilot parses "Increase Chennai sales 20% this quarter" into metric, segment, baseline and deadline, and checks feasibility against historical growth. Goals form a tree with contribution weights and roll-up health. Guard metrics such as on-time delivery or CSAT must stay within tolerance; a breach pauses linked initiatives and escalates.

Initiatives carry a hypothesis ("if X, metric Y moves by Z because W"), an expected impact range, cost, capacity in human hours and agent budget, an owner and a stage-gate. The Strategic Planner drafts an initiative portfolio from diagnosis, playbooks and past decisions, always including a "do nothing" baseline. The plan, budget and autonomy budget go through the Approvals Inbox with DoA routing, and a decision record stores the expectation. The executor then creates projects, tasks, automations, agent and squad assignments and experiments as Actions.

Monitoring and re-planning

Trajectory forecasts with intervals set health to on-track, at-risk or off-track. When a breach is predicted, a re-plan proposal is drafted with evidence, options and a critic review, and routed for approval. Recommendations and autonomous re-allocations are blocked when bound data is below the quality threshold or a connector is degraded. At the deadline the outcome is compared with the expectation, and approved learnings become playbook entries in Knowledge. Employee goals can link to company goals, but goal attainment never produces an automatic rating.

Features

What Goals & Autopilot includes

Squad goal (lite)

Goal, squad, KPIs and weekly check-in, with mandatory baseline, attribution window and stop triggers. Year 1, inside AI Workforce.

Goal record

Metric binding with segment filters, baseline, target, stretch, deadline, owner, sponsor, visibility and status.

Weekly checkpoint

Automatic KPI capture, owner commentary, confidence and blockers, with a digest to owner and sponsor.

Stop triggers

Metric, operator, value and minimum-sample rules that pause squads or initiatives automatically.

Goal ROI view

The Investment & ROI Ledger scoped to the goal, with baseline and holdout.

KPI binding with evidence badge

Freshness and data-quality score on every bound KPI; manual KPIs carry a badge and evidence.

Natural-language goal creation

Copilot turns a sentence into a goal definition with a feasibility check.

Goal tree and guard metrics

Contribution weights, roll-up health and tolerance bands that pause initiatives on breach.

Initiatives and assumptions

Hypothesis, impact range, cost, capacity and stage-gate, with linked assumption and risk registers.

Plan generation and approval

"Do nothing" baseline always included; approval through DoA routing with a decision record.

Executor

Approved plans create projects, tasks, automations, squad assignments and experiments as Actions.

Forecast trajectory and re-plan

Health from forecasts; predicted breaches trigger a re-plan proposal with critic review.

Data-quality gate

Recommendations blocked on low-quality data or degraded connectors.

Learnings to memory

Approved outcome learnings published to Knowledge as playbook entries.

AI

AI skills and Digital Employees

Check-in drafting

Drafts weekly check-ins from bound metrics; the owner confirms.

Goal parsing and feasibility

Turns a sentence into a goal and checks it against historical growth.

Plan generation

Drafts initiative portfolios at A1 to A2, always with "do nothing".

Re-plan proposals

Drafts re-plans with evidence and critic review for approval.

Digital Employees that use this module

They act through the same governed Actions as people; risky steps wait for approval.

Frequently asked questions

What is in Year 1?

Squad goals lite inside AI Workforce: goal, squad, KPIs and a weekly check-in with stop triggers and a goal ROI view. The full module is planned for W3.

Can the autopilot act on its own?

Only through approved plans, as Actions, within autonomy budgets and the DoA matrix. Re-allocations are blocked on low-quality data.

Does goal attainment rate employees?

No. Employee goals can link to company goals, but there is no automatic rating from attainment.
