Metering & Subscriptions

Entitlements, usage meters, budgets, invoices and agency rebilling in one place

Planned · Year 1 (W1)Sold as: IncludedInside the Year-1 boundaryC-10

Metering & Subscriptions turns what a tenant or partner buys into enforced entitlements and limits, measures usage accurately and bills correctly. It handles trials, changes, dunning and cancellation without ever losing data.

From purchase to permission

Plans, plan items, subscriptions and add-ons compile into entitlements. The entitlement compiler is deterministic, idempotent and versioned, and every app checks it before acting. If a module is not subscribed, its Actions return a clear NOT_ENTITLED error instead of failing silently.

Usage you can see and cap

Meters cover seats, contacts and records, messages per channel, AI credits, agent usage credits, storage and API calls. Fast counters are reconciled hourly with stored usage records, and billing uses reconciled records only. Soft limits warn at 80% and 100%; hard limits return LIMIT_REACHED without deleting data. Trials run per app or module with conversion and a read-only grace period. A usage dashboard shows consumption by meter, workspace, agent and period.

Agencies and rebilling

Planned for Wave 2: a partner wholesale subscription with pool allocation to sub-accounts, client price lists and a margin report; white-label invoices on the agency's behalf; and per-client rebilling of pass-through costs such as WhatsApp, SMS, voice and model provider costs.

Invoices and payments in India

One3's own invoices are planned with a gapless series per financial year, GST breakdown, buyer GSTIN and e-invoice IRN where applicable (to verify). Payments are planned by card, UPI including AutoPay mandates where supported, and bank transfer (to verify). Dunning moves from reminders to grace, then read-only, suspended and termination.

Fair changes

Self-serve checkout, immediate prorated upgrades, period-end downgrades, add-ons with prerequisite checks and seat reductions are planned for Wave 2. Unsubscribing shows an impact preview, keeps a read-only grace period and an export, and restores instantly on resubscribe. Budgets per workspace and meter can auto-pause non-critical AI at a hard cap. No prices are defined in the plan.

Later waves add enterprise contract overrides, outcome-based billing lines, an all-employee licence mode and pay-as-you-go consumption with a monthly cap.

Frequently asked questions

What happens when I hit a limit?

You get warnings at 80% and 100%. At a hard limit, new usage returns a clear limit error, but no data is deleted.

How are AI costs billed?

The plan separates model-cost AI credits from Action and outcome metering. Exact prices and carry-over rules are open decisions and will be published as policy.

Can agencies resell with margin?

Planned for Wave 2: pool allocation to sub-accounts, client price lists, white-label invoices and a margin report.
