Meeting companion
Capture in-person meetings with consent and turn them into tasks and record updates
The meeting companion captures in-person and offline meetings with explicit consent, transcribes in Indian languages, summarises and proposes tasks and record updates. It complements Office Meet for online meetings.
For meetings that happen in the room
Many important conversations happen in person: a client visit, a site walk, a team huddle. Planned for Wave 3 and metered by minutes, the meeting companion captures them from a phone or desktop microphone.
Consent first
Capture starts with a mandatory consent step: the user announces recording and records the consent of everyone present. External participants who are not members can consent through a link or QR code.
From audio to action
Transcription includes speaker diarisation and handles Indian languages and code-mixed speech. The companion produces a summary, decisions and action items, and links them to a CRM deal or project. Action items are proposed as tasks (R1 or R2) that the user confirms. Record update suggestions, such as a new deal stage or next step, appear as Action cards.
Retention
By default, audio is deleted after the transcript is approved. Offline capture with later upload supports field use with poor connectivity. Speaker naming from calendar attendees is planned with the Calendar module.
The companion never auto-executes action items above R1 without confirmation.
How it fits with the rest of One3
Online meetings are handled by the Meet module in Office; the companion covers the meetings that happen offline. Both write to the same activity timeline, so a deal shows everything that was discussed, whether on a call or across a table. Tasks land in Work, and deal updates go through CRM Actions with normal approval and audit. Because it runs on Model Hub, Indic transcription follows the same in-region routing rules as other sensitive data, and every transcript is traced in AI Observability.
