Agent Rental Marketplace
Discover, trial, rent, review and return Digital Employees on clear terms
The Agent Rental Marketplace runs the rental lifecycle: discovery, sandbox trial, contract, onboarding, probation, monthly review and return. In Year 1 it carries the first-party Store only; third-party listings are planned later under the Marketplace Trust Standard.
The rental lifecycle
Renting a Digital Employee should be as clear as renting any service. The Agent Rental Marketplace, planned for W2 with first-party listings only in Year 1, covers the whole lifecycle.
Discover and trial
A discovery form takes goal, industry, language, stack and budget and returns a shortlist with cost and ROI ranges and assumptions. A sandbox trial runs on synthetic or redacted data with no rent and no real contact, and produces a trial scorecard, an estimated monthly investment range and a list of what the trial could not test.
Contract and onboarding
The rental contract records the template version, rent, credit allowance, caps, SLA, data processing terms and an outcome clause that stays unused until Outcome Contracting. Missing modules are proposed in the subscription flow, and rent is blocked until the tenant is entitled. The onboarding checklist requires healthy connections, knowledge scopes, brand voice, an approved persona policy, a frozen baseline and a named owner. Instantiation creates an agent identity with skills limited to the owner's permissions, at A1, and a ledger account.
Probation, review and return
Probation is tracked per skill. A probation guarantee credit applies when a Verified agent fails for agent-quality reasons. Rentals can be paused, and paused agents run nothing. Each month the statement, scorecard and recommendation go to the owner, who chooses to continue, retrain, replace or return, recorded in the Decision Journal. On return, identity and tokens are revoked, open tasks reassigned, and memory, playbooks, ledger and statements exported in open formats before deletion. SLA breaches and upheld disputes produce credit notes through Billing. Contract amendments re-approve where risk rises.
For agencies
Agencies buy rentals into a wholesale pool, allocate them to client sub-accounts, set a client price list per template and issue resale invoices with their branding. Client-facing statements show the agency price, while the agency sees wholesale cost and margin. Bulk rental across sub-accounts uses snapshots with per-client owners, and a client portal section shows rented agents, statements, disputes and approvals. Agency-operated agents need a mandate from the client tenant.
Later
Third-party listings with signed artefacts, maintainer verification and permission diffs, and verified-renter reviews with anti-fraud checks, are planned once the Marketplace Trust Standard is in place.
