Agent Liability Desk
Incidents, remediation, claims and insurance when an agent causes harm
Agent Liability Desk handles agent-caused harm end to end: incident cases, containment and replay, remediation, root cause, customer communications, claims, service credits and insurance cases. In Year 1, the incident workflow and kill switches in AI Governance are the substitute.
When things go wrong
Even well-governed agents can make mistakes that affect customers. Agent Liability Desk, planned for W4, gives a business a structured way to handle them. In Year 1, the incident workflow and kill switches in AI Governance are the substitute.
Detect and contain
An agent incident case links runs, Actions, affected records and parties, and severity. The response follows detect, contain with a kill switch, deterministic replay of what the agent did, and a blast-radius query of everything it changed.
Remediate and learn
A remediation plan reverses or compensates Actions according to their reversibility class, with owners and deadlines. A root cause record adds new eval cases and a versioned fix. Drafts of communications to affected parties need R3 approval, and disclosure rules apply.
Claims and credits
Client claims are taken in, assessed against the liability caps and exclusions in the rental contract, and decided. Service credits link to the Ledger and Billing credit notes. An insurance case with an insurer partner covers notification, evidence pack and status (partner to be verified).
Legal obligations
Where an incident involves personal data, it links to the breach procedure and notification timelines (DPDP rules to be verified with counsel). Evidence on runs, messages and ledger lines tied to a claim is retained under legal hold. Regulator and breach notification playbooks per jurisdiction are planned (to be verified). Incident analytics show incident rates per template, time to contain, claims paid and root cause categories, which feed back into template kill criteria and certification.
