Avatar & Voice Rights Registry

Verified, scoped and revocable consent for any real person's face or voice

Planned · Year 1 (W2)Sold as: CoreInside the Year-1 boundaryC-189

The Avatar & Voice Rights Registry is mandatory for any avatar or voice use. It records the origin of every avatar and voice, captures verified and scoped consent for real people, checks consent at render time and propagates revocation.

Consent as a hard rule

Brand avatars and voices are useful, but using a real person's likeness without consent is a serious risk. The Rights Registry, planned for W2, is mandatory for any avatar or voice use across Avatar Studio, Audio & Voice and Video Factory.

Three classes

Every avatar and voice has an origin record. Class A is synthetic. Licensed provider voices carry licence records. Class B is a consented real person. Class C covers blocked categories: public figures without a licence, minors, deceased persons without estate rights, customers, anyone without consent and impersonation.

Capturing consent

For Class B, consent capture includes identity verification, written e-signed consent and a scope: tenant, channels, languages, geography, duration and script rules. Identity verification through a licensed Aadhaar or DigiLocker partner is planned (licence and access to be verified). Likeness assets and voice prints are stored as sensitive files with tenant-keyed encryption and access logging. Consent is per tenant: the same person consenting to two tenants creates two independent records.

Checked every time

A render-time consent check requires active, in-scope consent; otherwise the render is blocked with a reason. Upload checks look for lookalikes against registry records, public figures and matches against registered voice prints. Unconsented likeness or voice in third-party media uploaded to Creative Studio is detected.

Revocation and expiry

The subject or a consent officer can revoke at any time. Revocation is designed to reach queued renders, scheduled posts and future use within a target of one hour. Expiry reminders go to the officer and subject, and automatic expiry blocks further use. A narrower scope applies immediately; a wider scope needs a new signature. Copies already published on external platforms may persist, and the takedown workflow says so honestly.

Protecting employees and recipients

Employee volunteers are protected: consent is never a condition of employment, can be revoked without penalty, and is never used to evaluate, pressure or replace them. Bulk personalised avatar videos need a recipient consent basis, opt-out and frequency caps. The subject can see a usage log in a portal, and compensation or royalty tracking is planned. Consent evidence (signed consent, identity verification record, scope history and usage log) can be exported for disputes. An abuse report channel with a takedown SLA applies sanctions to violating tenants.
