Manage Digital Employees in your org chart, from requisition to retirement
Digital Employees is the planned workforce management module: a hybrid org chart, requisitions with a business case, probation, monthly reviews, promotion and retirement for agents. In Year 1, the agent instance record in Agents Studio is the substitute.
Managing agents like a workforce
When a business runs many agents, it needs the same structure it uses for people: who they report to, what they cost, how they are doing and when they move on. Digital Employees is planned for W3. In Year 1, the agent instance record in Agents Studio carries owner, supervisor, cost centre, KPIs and a monthly scorecard.
Records and the org chart
A Digital Employee record holds identity, owner, a supervisor chain that ends at a human within three hops, department, cost centre, teams and a job description. A hybrid org chart shows humans and Digital Employees together, sharing org units with Core HR where subscribed. A workforce directory shows skills, capacity, availability, an autonomy summary and the AI badge.
Requisition to retirement
A requisition states the need, KPIs, baseline, budget, risk scope and a business case against the previous process, and goes through the Approvals Inbox. Lifecycle states run from requisitioned and onboarding through shadow and probation to active, suspended and retired. Probation has default exit criteria such as at least 30 days, at least 200 approvals, no more than 3% material edits and KPIs at or above baseline, adjustable by the tenant. Monthly performance reviews draw on outcomes, quality, cost, safety and human feedback. Promotion changes per-skill autonomy, budget or scope and needs a governance re-assessment. Retirement hands over open tasks, writes a final report, archives or erases memory and revokes identity.
Manager agents
Manager agents decompose goals and allocate work to specialist agents. They may propose, but never assign, work to humans, and an agent never manages a human. Deadlock and delegation-cycle detection runs across manager and specialist agents.
People first
A weekly workforce report covers outcomes by humans and Digital Employees, cost including oversight, quality, incidents and promotions due. Workforce planning scenarios use Forecast & Simulation with stated assumptions and never make automatic headcount decisions. AI-transition learning paths support employees whose tasks Digital Employees take on. An employee transparency view shows which Digital Employees work in a team and what data they access.
