Credentials
Issue, verify and revoke portable credentials linked to real skills
Credentials will let One3, tenants and verified training partners define, assess, issue, verify, renew and revoke tamper-evident credentials. They follow the Open Badges 3.0 standard aligned to W3C Verifiable Credentials.
Credentials is planned for W4 and is sold per credential, with issuance and verification API calls metered.
Why it matters
Credentials are often issued on networks detached from where work happens. One3 Credentials link a badge to the evidence behind it, to the holder's skill profile in Core HR (with consent), to expert verification in Human Expert Cloud and to partner tiers in the Developer & Partner Portal.
How issuance works
- An issuer (One3 Academy, a tenant or a verified training partner) defines a badge class: name, criteria, aligned skills, evidence requirements, validity period and languages.
- The recipient passes an assessment: an exam, a practical lab in a sandbox, a portfolio review, an observed assessment with assessor attestation, or external proof review.
- The service checks criteria, evidence and duplicates, and signs the credential with an issuer key held in cloud key management.
- The holder gets a claim link, claims with an OTP and sets privacy per credential.
- Anyone can verify through a public page or API with no login: signature, issuer, status (valid, expired, suspended, revoked), issue date and criteria.
Lifecycle and safety
Credentials can be suspended or revoked with a reason; the status list updates and holders and relying tenants are notified. Key rotation and compromise response re-issue affected credentials. Fraud signals cover duplicate issuance, link scraping, forged images and issuance spikes. Verification is free for the verifier and never reveals a private credential's existence.
Later
DigiLocker issuance where eligible (verify), stackable pathways, apprenticeship-aligned templates and verified-organisation credentials for the Agent Network. Hindi and Tamil names and descriptions are planned on credentials and verification pages.
