Business Twin
A validated "what happens next" projection of your business, built from its own event log
Business Twin is planned to compose metric trees, driver models, forecasts and process models mined from the event log into a versioned twin of the business. Its maturity level is computed from evidence, and it states clearly what it will not claim.
A twin from the records you already keep
Every Action in One3 is logged. Business Twin, planned for W5 and requiring Forecast & Simulation and the Decision Engine, uses that event log to model how the business actually works, then projects what happens next if nothing changes, or if something does.
What it is made of
A twin model combines metric trees, driver models, forecasts and process models, versioned per tenant. Process discovery mines the action log and activity history into process maps, variants, cycle times and bottlenecks. Core KPIs are projected continuously with intervals and refreshed as events arrive.
Maturity you can see
Each KPI and the twin as a whole carry a maturity level from L0 to L5, with the evidence behind each level. Levels are computed from evidence records, never set by hand. The validation protocol is enforced: backtests, naive benchmarks, stress tests, an assumption register, drift monitoring and human sign-off. A twin that stops passing is downgraded automatically.
Guardrails on what it says
"Will not claim" guardrails are enforced through output validation, so the twin does not present projections as certainties. Exploratory agent-based simulation is labelled "exploratory, not predictive".
Intervention simulation
Intervention simulations attach to Decision Engine options so leaders can compare consequences before committing. Reaching L4 requires comparing simulations with real experiment results for a tenant-set number of interventions. System dynamics models cover feedback loops such as hiring, capacity, quality and churn, and discrete-event simulation uses mined process timings. A continuous autonomous twin running tactical loops within autonomy budgets, with governance approval, is a W6 goal.
Features
What Business Twin includes
Versioned twin model
Metric trees, driver models, forecasts and process models per tenant.
Process discovery
Process maps, variants, cycle times and bottlenecks from the event log.
Maturity tracker
L0 to L5 per KPI and per twin, with evidence for each level.
Continuous projection
Core KPIs with intervals, refreshed as events arrive.
Validation protocol
Backtests, benchmarks, stress tests, assumption register, drift and sign-off, with automatic downgrade.
"Will not claim" guardrails
Output validation blocks overclaiming text.
Intervention simulation
Linked to Decision Engine options; L4 requires comparison with experiments.
System dynamics
Feedback loops such as hiring, capacity, quality and churn.
Discrete-event simulation
Operations queues using mined process timings.
Exploratory agent-based simulation
Labelled "exploratory, not predictive".

AI
AI skills and Digital Employees
Process discovery
Process mining over the action log.
Continuous projection
KPI projections with intervals; strategic use needs sign-off.
Maturity computation
Computes levels from evidence; never manual.
"Will not claim" validation
Blocks non-compliant output text.
Digital Employees that use this module
They act through the same governed Actions as people; risky steps wait for approval.
Frequently asked questions
When is Business Twin planned?
W5 (Years 4 to 5), with foundations in W4.
Can I set the maturity level myself?
No. Levels are computed from evidence records and are downgraded automatically when validation fails.
What does it require?
Forecast & Simulation and the Decision Engine.
