Household OS

One family calendar, lists, chores, bills and document vault, with per-member privacy

Planned · Years 6–10 (W6)Sold as: StandaloneC-181

A family space that coordinates calendars, shared lists, chores, bills and important documents, with a family assistant that respects each member's privacy. It is never linked to a work tenant, and minors' data rules must be verified before it ships.

What it does

Household OS is planned for families who coordinate bills, documents, chores and schedules across generations. It brings together a shared calendar with per-event visibility, real-time shared lists, recurring chores with rotation, bill reminders, a document vault with expiry dates and a meal planner, with a family assistant that answers questions like "what's due this week".

It is sold on a Family plan, and a Family bundle with Personal Finance is planned once both products reach GA.

Privacy per member

Each member sees what their visibility allows. Events can be visible to everyone, adults only, or private and shown as busy. Documents carry per-document visibility, identity numbers are masked in previews, and the vault is stored in an encrypted class. The household admin cannot read another adult's private items. When an adult leaves, they take their private items and own documents, and shared items stay.

There is no behavioural monitoring or location tracking of household members, and none of minors at all. The family assistant does not profile minors and cannot open vault contents unless the asking adult can see the document.

Minors and guardian consent

Minors are added as guardian-managed profiles with a guardian consent record using a verifiable parental consent method. A minor profile has no login, no WhatsApp and no assistant memory by default. A guardian may later enable a limited login to see the minor's own chores and events where the age and consent rules allow. Household OS will not ship until the minors' data rules under India's DPDP framework are verified. These are pointers to verify with counsel, not legal advice.

Bills and documents on time

Bills have a biller, fixed or variable amount, due date, recurrence, responsible member and reminders. At MVP, members mark bills paid with date, method and receipt; paying supported bills through an authorised BBPS partner with step-up authentication is planned for GA (verify). Documents with expiry dates get reminders at two offsets, and a renewed upload links the new version and archives the old one. DigiLocker fetch through an authorised partner is planned for GA (verify).

The Household ROI view shows bills paid on or before the due date, late fees recorded before and after, and documents renewed before expiry, each with evidence records.

Household OS is planned for W6.

Workflow

Adding a minor with guardian consent

  1. 1

An adult chooses to add a child; only guardians can proceed.

  2. 2

If the minors' data rule is not verified and current, the action is blocked with an explanation.

  3. 3

The guardian completes a verifiable parental consent flow and step-up authentication.

  4. 4

A minor profile is created with no login, no WhatsApp and no assistant memory.

  5. 5

The guardian sets chores and events, and can later enable a limited login where rules allow.

Workflow

Document expiry and renewal

  1. 1

A document is saved with an expiry date.

  2. 2

Reminders go out at the first and second offsets.

  3. 3

If a renewed document is uploaded, the new version is linked and the old one archived.

  4. 4

If not, the document is flagged expired and the admin is notified.
