Energy Management
Meters, tariff-checked bills, baselines and verified savings
Energy Management builds a meter hierarchy, validates utility bills against tariffs, detects anomalies and verifies savings against adjusted baselines. Verified savings are written to the ROI Ledger, and metered consumption feeds Carbon & ESG.
What it does
Energy Management is planned for W5 for energy managers who need to prove savings, not claim them. The meter register covers grid connections, main meters, sub-meters and formula-based virtual meters for electricity, diesel, LPG/PNG, steam, chilled water, solar generation and water, attached to sites and spaces and to Operations assets.
Readings and bills
Reading rounds run on mobile or WhatsApp, where a meter photo is read by OCR with a range check, and rollovers and meter replacements are handled. Interval data comes in by CSV/XLSX or through AMR, smart-meter and utility portal APIs (to verify). Read-only IoT and BMS telemetry arrives through IoT Hub gateways with quality flags for gaps and spikes.
Utility bills come from Accounts, uploads or WhatsApp. AI extracts billing period, units, contract demand, maximum demand, power factor and charges by component, citing bill regions. Tariff models — fixed and demand charges, slabs, time-of-day periods, power factor incentives and penalties, fuel adjustment, taxes and duties — are configured per DISCOM, state and connection category with source and validity. Bill validation recalculates the bill and flags component differences above tolerance, with a dispute workflow.
Baselines and verified savings
Baselines use regression with drivers such as degree days, occupancy and production, with fit statistics shown. The savings measures register tracks LED retrofits, HVAC setpoints, VFDs, power factor correction, solar and tariff changes with expected savings labelled as estimates. Measurement and verification records the approach, routine and non-routine adjustments, and verified savings in kWh and currency, with verifier sign-off. Only verified savings create ROI Ledger entries.
Optimisation and compliance
Advisory recommendations cover contract demand, power factor and ToD tariffs. DG set efficiency, solar and net-metering tracking, energy targets, energy audit packs, ISO 50001 energy review support, fault detection and refrigerant leak tracking round it out. Demand response and load control are not planned before W6.
Features
What Energy Management includes
Meter register and hierarchy
Utility, main, sub- and virtual meters per carrier, attached to sites, spaces and assets.
Manual and photo readings
Reading rounds on mobile or WhatsApp with photo OCR, confidence, and rollover and replacement handling.
Utility bill capture and extraction
Billing period, units, contract and maximum demand, power factor and component charges with cited regions.
Tariff models
Demand charges, slabs, time-of-day periods, power factor rules, fuel adjustment and duties per DISCOM and category (verify per tariff order).
Bill validation and disputes
Recalculates bills from readings and tariff, flags differences by component and runs a dispute workflow.
Consumption dashboards and EnPIs
Cost and consumption by site, meter and carrier, load profiles, and kWh per m², occupant, unit produced or degree day.
File, API and telemetry ingestion
CSV/XLSX interval data, AMR and utility APIs, and read-only BMS telemetry via IoT Hub gateways.
Anomaly detection
Out-of-range consumption, after-hours load, demand exceedances and DG run-hour anomalies with driver explanations.
Baselines
Regression baselines with weather, occupancy and production drivers and visible fit statistics.
Savings measures and M&V
Measure register with owner, cost and estimated savings, and M&V with adjustments and verifier sign-off.
Verified savings to ROI Ledger
Only verified savings create ROI Ledger return entries, linked to measures and attributed Digital Employees.
Contract demand, power factor and ToD optimisation
Advisory simulations of contract demand revision, power factor correction and load shifting.
DG set, solar and renewables
Diesel kWh per litre and fuel reconciliation, rooftop and open-access generation, net metering and renewable share.
Energy audits and ISO 50001 support
Audit data packs, designated-consumer exports and significant energy use records (verify).

Verified savings post to the ROI Ledger
AI
AI skills and Digital Employees
Utility bill extraction
Extracts bill fields with region citations; low-confidence fields need confirmation.
Discrepancy explanation
Explains which bill component differs and why, given tariff version and readings.
Anomaly triage
Identifies likely drivers and creates requests or measure ideas.
M&V report drafts
Drafts M&V reports over deterministic computation; verification stays human.
Meter photo OCR
Reads meter photos with a range check and proposes the reading.
Tariff and demand recommendations
Advisory contract demand and ToD tariff options with cost ranges.
Digital Employees that use this module
- Energy Analyst
They act through the same governed Actions as people; risky steps wait for approval.
Frequently asked questions
Will One3 control our HVAC or BMS?
No, not before W6. BMS and IoT connections are read-only. Load control is a W6 item under a physical-risk tier.
How are savings proven?
Each measure has a baseline with drivers and an M&V approach, and a verifier signs off. Only verified savings reach the ROI Ledger.
Does it handle Indian electricity tariffs?
Tariff models are designed to be configured per DISCOM, state and connection category with source and validity. Each tariff order must be verified.
Can the agent dispute a bill with the utility?
It drafts disputes. Sending is allowed only after approval, or per approved template and value band once that autonomy is earned.
