Carbon & ESG
Emissions and ESG metrics from operational records, with lineage to every bill line
Carbon & ESG calculates emissions and ESG metrics from bills, fuel logs, meter readings and HR data already in One3, with lineage from each source record to each report line. It is designed to support BRSR, BRSR Core assurance packs and framework mappings.
What it does
Carbon & ESG is planned for W5 to turn operational records into traceable disclosures. It starts with a reporting boundary by legal entity, site and control approach — operational control, financial control or equity share — and reporting periods by financial year. An emission source register covers DG sets and boilers, Fleet vehicles, refrigerants from Assets, purchased electricity, heat and steam, process emissions and Scope 3 categories.
Activity data from One3
Activity data connectors read Accounts bills (electricity, fuel, water, waste services), Fleet fuel logs, Energy readings, Assets refrigerant top-ups, Expenses travel, Procurement spend, EHS water and waste, and People aggregates. Where data is not in One3, sites submit through forms, CSV or XLSX templates, or a WhatsApp photo of a bill. AI extracts quantity, unit, period, site and supplier, cites the bill region, and sends low-confidence items to a review queue.
Calculation and lineage
A versioned emission factor library records source, publication date, region, gas, GWP set and licence status. The calculation engine is GHG Protocol-aligned, deterministic and reproducible, with Scope 2 location-based and market-based methods. The lineage chain — source record → activity data → factor version → calculation run → metric → report line — is clickable and exportable. Each data point carries a data quality score for completeness, method tier, freshness and validation flags.
Collection, approval and lock
Data collection campaigns send period requests to site owners with a completeness board. Site owners approve activity data, metrics are reviewed and the period is locked; post-lock changes need a restatement with reason and approval, and prior disclosures are preserved.
Reporting
The ESG metric catalogue covers environmental, social (including safety from EHS) and governance metrics. The BRSR report builder populates sections from metrics with lineage, with AI narrative drafts and reviewer comments. BRSR Core assurance packs give an assurance provider time-boxed read-only access. Value-chain requests, Scope 3 estimation with estimate labels, targets, framework mappings (GRI, ISSB, ESRS, CDP), CCTS intensity tracking and exports to external platforms follow. All formats and filing modes must be verified.

AI
AI skills and Digital Employees
Bill and invoice extraction
Proposes activity data with region citations; approval is not allowed for the agent.
Factor mapping proposals
Maps source type, activity, region and period to a factor version for an analyst to confirm.
Missing-data chasing
Finds gaps and sends template requests and reminders on WhatsApp or email.
Narrative drafts
Drafts BRSR narrative sections with citations to locked metrics.
ESG Q&A
Answers questions over draft and locked metrics showing lock status.
Assurance query drafts
Drafts responses to assurance queries with evidence links for an analyst to send.
Digital Employees that use this module
- ESG Data Steward
They act through the same governed Actions as people; risky steps wait for approval.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the activity data come from?
Mostly from records already in One3: Accounts bills, Fleet fuel logs, Energy readings, Assets refrigerant data, Expenses, Procurement and People. Sites can also submit forms, files or WhatsApp photos.
Can an auditor see where a number came from?
Yes. Each metric is designed to link back through factor version and activity data to the source bill line, fuel log or reading.
Can the AI approve data or lock a period?
No. It extracts, proposes and drafts. Approval, period lock and disclosure approval are human.
Which frameworks are planned?
BRSR and BRSR Core first, with mappings to GRI, ISSB IFRS S2, ESRS E1 and CDP as versioned configuration. Formats and licences must be verified.
