Kiosk & Digital Signage

Screens and kiosks driven by live prices, KPIs and emergency events

Planned · Years 4–5 (W5)Sold as: Add-onC-159

Kiosk & Digital Signage is planned to run screens and kiosks from the records the business already keeps: POS prices, dashboards, EHS and Facilities messages, and brand assets. Content expiry and emergency override are built in.

What it does

The module manages screens and players, builds playlists from content slots with schedules and targeting, and runs no-code kiosk flows such as check-in, feedback, queue tokens and self-order. Content comes from the systems that own it: prices and menus from POS and Commerce, KPIs from Dashboards, safety messages from EHS and Facilities, and brand assets from Brand & DAM and Design Studio.

No more expired offers

Offers and prices carry mandatory expiry. Expired content is removed from every player, including offline caches, at the next check. Menu boards sync prices, availability and images from POS, and out-of-stock items are hidden automatically. Publishing to customer-facing screens needs approval with a preview on the target layout.

Emergency override

A Facilities emergency event or an authorised role overrides every screen at a site with a pre-approved template. The site edge node relays the override to LAN screens when the WAN is down. 'All clear' restores the schedule.

Safe rollout at scale

Content is published in rings across hundreds of screens with health checks between rings, and a failing ring halts and rolls back. Players cache content for offline playback and upload proof-of-play logs. Screenshots are disabled by default where screens may show personal data, and data on public screens passes a classification check.

Generated content within brand rules

AI drafts offers, menu changes and announcements from templates with live data, in brand style, with multilingual variants. Brand-locked templates fix logo, fonts, colours and legal footer, and local teams change only typed fields. A human approves before anything reaches a customer-facing screen. QR engagement counts scans without storing IP addresses, device IDs or cookies.

AI

AI skills and Digital Employees

Generated signage content

Layout-aware copy and imagery within brand rules, per orientation and language.

Content compliance pre-check

Checks expiry, POS price binding, claim language and data classification against the screen's public tag.

Playlist scheduling assistance

Fills gaps, respects dayparts and expiry, and proposes the publish ring.

Screen health triage

Classifies offline patterns (power, network, player, display) and explains proof-of-play gaps.

Digital Employees that use this module

  • AI Signage Content Coordinator (proposed)

They act through the same governed Actions as people; risky steps wait for approval.

Frequently asked questions

Can screens show prices straight from our POS?

Yes, as planned. Menu boards sync prices, availability and item images from POS and Commerce, and out-of-stock items are hidden.

What happens if the internet is down at a store?

Players cache scheduled content and keep playing; proof-of-play logs upload later. Emergency overrides can be relayed by a site edge node.

Can AI publish content directly?

Not to customer-facing screens. AI drafts and pre-checks content; a human approves customer-facing publishing and emergency overrides.

Which players are supported?

A PWA web player, plus managed Android and ChromeOS players where supported. Platform support is to be verified before build.
