Automations
Durable workflows over One3 events and Actions, with human, agent and AI steps
Automations runs durable workflows triggered by events, schedules, webhooks, forms or a button, calling the typed Actions of every subscribed module. It is the engine behind journeys, approvals and onboarding across One3, with runs metered and costs visible.
What it does
Automations is the Year-1 core of Build (W0, GA with the Growth OS in W2) and the engine other apps use for journeys, approvals and onboarding. A workflow is a typed definition of triggers, steps, variables and error paths, validated against the Actions you are entitled to. It compiles to a durable execution that survives worker restarts and carries tenant and actor context.
Triggers
Record events from any subscribed module — for example a lead created or a ticket closed — with filters on payload and changed fields. Schedules in the tenant timezone with presets for the Indian financial year, month-end and quarter-end. Inbound webhooks with a unique URL, HMAC-signed secret, optional IP allowlist and idempotency. Form submissions, and manual triggers from a record button, Copilot or the API.
Steps
Action steps invoke any entitled kernel Action and show its risk tier and reversibility inline. Lookup, condition, switch, delay and wait-until, loops with caps, wait-for-event with timeout, HTTP requests through Integration Hub credentials, AI steps with a required output schema and cost cap, approval steps with diff preview and AI summary, agent steps that run under the agent's autonomy and budget, human task steps with SLAs, and sub-workflows.
Building and testing
The visual canvas has configuration panels, a variable picker and inline validation, plus a keyboard-operable outline view. Workflow from description turns a typed or voice description into a draft. Test runs and dry runs simulate R3 and R4 and external steps without side effects. Versions move through draft, published and archived; in-flight runs stay on their version and rollback affects only new runs. Publishing a workflow with risky steps needs a second reviewer who sees a visual and JSON diff.
Running safely
Entitlement and permission are re-checked at every step. Loop guards limit chain depth and self-triggers. Retries never repeat a completed irreversible step. Workflow budgets cap AI, message and spend per month and auto-pause. Connector health gating, send throttles, quiet hours and business-hours calendars protect recipients. A kill switch stops new steps quickly.
Operating and measuring
Run history shows each step's inputs and outputs (masked by classification), duration, cost and actor. Failure alerts, AI repair suggestions, bulk operations, ownership transfer when an owner leaves, a dependency view and open-format export round it out. ROI posting writes cost lines per run and links outcomes such as a run to a deal won.

Frequently asked questions
Is Automations available in Year 1?
Yes, it is inside the Year-1 boundary: v1 in W0 and GA with the Growth OS in W2.
What happens if my subscription to a module lapses?
The run pauses at the affected step with a typed reason and the owner is notified. It does not fail silently or escalate.
Can a workflow loop forever?
Loop guards limit chain depth, items per loop and runs per record per hour, and detect self-triggers.
Are retries safe for irreversible steps?
Retries never repeat a completed step that is externally, legally or privacy irreversible.
